Meditation





Hold it hold it… by no means its close your eyes..think of deepika padukone/hrithik.. and breathe deeply… sssiiiggghhhh!! This is real meditation!!

The following was my status a few days back..


“smile is the best reaction to any given situation” I had one of my friends pass a comment on this “ try smiling when someone showers you with a rain of bullets!” ok this is in no connection with meditation.. anyways..

Meditation is just about blanking your mind off all thoughts and sitting blank whilst breathing deeply whereby relaxing and reenergizing your mind and body. Now the blanking your mind part is the most challenging.. the rest will fall in place automatically.

Ok trials:

sit up straight take a deep breath.. hello..? I mean it. sit up.. take a breath…! Now breathe out calm... ok now stop thinking about your boss, about your siblings, spouse, child, etc, etc, bus travel, sleep, yawn…! hello hello.. we are not going this way and sleeping we are trying to blank the mind..

Fine fine.. I know what you are feeling this minute.. I am not crapping or making a fool of you.. fine try it yourself.. blanking is not possible the first time.. it will come along eventually. For beginning, lets try something light.. try turning on some soothing light music.. if you are at office.. try to imagine that everyone around you is miming and the volume is muted.. funny isn’t it? To see everyone miming?


Ok now.. breathe deeply and close your eyes.. think of the setting sun.. slowly breathe out.. breathe in again... ok how many of us have a goal here? (please note, I am strictly not talking about a football goal). Ok goal or no goal.. we all aspire to have a bright future don’t we? So think of the bright sun, imagine it’s a small glowing ball in between your eyebrows.. do you get a tingly feeling? Good we are already improving..

Now try imagining this small sun between your eyebrows when ever your restless.. While doing this.. breathe slowly, deeply.. retain this for 2 mins initially.. then increase the time.. even if the ball of sun refuses to come.. don’t stop breathing.. just keep breathing in and out.. slowly deeply.. after about 5 in’s and out’s assuming that you were breathing with your eyes closed, open the eyes slowly and rub your entire face with your palms.. there you go.. as fresh as the sun.. ready to shine..

We can not wake ppl who act like they are sleeping...!!


Here again i'm penning about irresponsible "Grown ups" damn we've become so careless.. we care for just nothing at all. as the saying goes, one can just not wake a person who's faking to be asleep. Ok this is something i noticed and it disturbed me. I cant go and stop anyone or teach at least i can express what i feel at least make people who read this think even if not do.

All rest rooms at least in corporate organisations, provide a tissue roll. I'm not detailing on what that tissue is used for but on how carelessly its wasted. If you see the image there, the tissue from the roll is hanging till the floor, little do we realize that the next person who walks into the toilet expects the same hygiene like we do..

What does the next person do, he/she will tear the roll till where ever its exposed, discard it and use some more at their convenience. Now that much amount of paper tissue is wasted. We campaign all over the country "Save trees save trees" and what are we doing to save them actually? aiding in cutting more? there's no point planting a sapling when we are indirectly cutting the trees.

Fine thats personal hygiene now take a look the picture in the top left corner. That is a dust bin and now if you take a closer look, there's the same tissue lying there wasted. Its lying there as neat as it was when in the roll, not used, not even crumpled! what i'm trying to say is, tissue is not something you just rip an throw whilst doing what you went inside for. Its kept there with a purpose. if its not of use to you, don't waste it. Some one else can make use of it if you don't! its not your duty to rip and throw it there every time you visit the place. If your using it at least to wipe your hand, its fine. Don't mindlessly waste!

I cant stop any of you out there from using or wasting tissue, thats perfectly up to you. But at least take a minute and give it a thought.

Healthy Corporate

The scenario:
Alarm goes "wee wee wee wee" one eye opens, finds the mobile hits the snooze button
- 15 mins -
Alarm goes "wee wee wee wee" one eye opens, Oh Monday mornings! and its 6:15 already??
reluctantly we get up, swear at the tooth brush while brushing, write on water "i will work out tomorrow morning" shower, nibble food, rush to catch the commuter. and after a great deal of road, office is reached.

Its darjeeling once we step into the main doors. Thanks to them, at least the WC's don't have a split AC. we don't feel thirsty in the pleasant temperature because all we do is SIT, sit,Sit and sIt. The cafeteria, mmm such an inviting place in any corporate organisation so many items to munch at affordable prices and all that they do is drain everyone's salary by FILLING their stomachs. The kinda food and junk available there, pulls us nose first and we crave to into eating our own way to capsules and bankruptcy. But its such a happening place throughout the day. andso all that we do is, sit eat EAT siT Eat SiT sIt eAt, bloat like a balloon and then say, travel too tedious, work pressure etc which are only 10% of the cause.

Even though organisations provide a gym, its a forgotten place for 90% people because of "work" which accounts to seeking advice from the God Father "Guru-Google" We end up huddled for hours in the rotating chair bent in front of the PC and at the end of the day, end up with a backache and neck pain.

some suggestions:
* wake once the alarm rings without snoozing it whereby u need not bathe in 2 mins.. u can take 5 mins (3 extra)
* after nibbling food, take some fruit say a banana or apple or atleast a glass of milk or buttermilk or worst case water.
* walk at least 10steps every 1 hour! DO NOT STAY GLUED TO YOUR CHAIR! No one is gonna steal it.
* picking up waste paper from the floor is not a sin, your back gets relaxed. breathe long and deep to feel at ease always.
* even if you have to visit the rest room now and then, DRINK WATER. at least for the fresh and free feeling.
* most cafeterias provide stalls of all kinds. eat well thats no issue at least in this blog, but eat so that your able to get up and walk around comfortably.
* add fruit juices to your meal when ever possible.
* staircases do exist in buildings. no harm climbing 2 floors even if not 12.

Public transport


The MTC bus has almost become an integral part of life... every day begins with a hassle to catch the bus on time.. which never happens... i always have to run behind it and board it when its on the move..
Its a whole new world inside the bus..people of all sorts and sizes push you here and there moving in and out, the conductor shouts out the name of the place, his whistle shrieks, people pass money calling out where they've to go from one end of the bus to the other, guys in the foot board make comments about every thing under the sun, the guy near the window keeps spiting out helping singara chennai to develop, ladies jabber about everything and nothing to each other, a whole dozen school kids stand calm amidst this, another dozen BUSY people create cacophony using their mobile phones adding more noise to the already noisy bus, the driver hits the break and accelerator every time he inhales, making all in the bus fall on each other adding to the already existing confusion.. with many clicking their tongues and some adding cha shoe kaala vechu midhichutan! arive illa.. indha driver oru madayan break a medhuva pudikkave theriyadhu!!

Bus travel... a pleasure in its own right.....!

Coffee

Coffee... mm mm a strong refreshing smacky coffee starts my day... with out that beverage, something is jus not complete.. when some thing is sought after or i'm analyzing, my coffee is my pal... when it rains at night, oh its the ultimate company! who doesn't like to gaze out of the window experiencing the mild sprinkle of the rain outside whilst sipping hot coffee from our mugs... or it be IM with friends around 2am at night having a coffee.. makes my thoughts drift to school days! coffee is best when i have to discuss something.. whether i drink it or not, the refreshing aroma itself makes the conversation long and good.. we might have started somewhere and would have digressed an gone else where.. and only when the coffee becomes cold or when the waiter comes to clean our table do we realize the passage of time.. coffee.. i can still feel its aroma thou i'm not sipping from a mug right now...

I Wonder!

When i look at the brilliant blue sky,
when i look at the flutter bye flutter by, i wonder
when i look at the lush green grass,
when i look at the little bug sitting on one of the blades, i wonder
when i look at the vast expanse of water,
when i look at the gentle jelly fish, i wonder
when i look at the caring bird,
when i look at the egg she's warming, i wonder
when i look at the great big elephant,
when i look at the little calf she's playing with, i wonder
when i look at the caring mother,
when i look at the sweet little infant she holds, i wonder

i wonder how intimately caring our dear Lord is
i wonder about how sweet his creations are
i wonder... i wonder...!!
